New City Church to Meet at Cox Capitol Theater bringing new people downtown
New City Church downtown, a church start, has reached a rental agreement with the Cox Capitol Theater and will begin meeting at the theater September 16, 2007. The new church is described as “comfortable, casual, and truly contemporary.” In a city known for music, New City Church’s band looks forward to taking advantage of the Cox Capitol Theater’s recent sound upgrades. Lead church planter and pastor, Keith Watson says, “New City will be about much more than a Sunday worship experience. We are looking forward to being vitally involved in the continued transformation of downtown Macon, and ultimately the entire city of Macon.” The new church hopes to positively impact downtown businesses by bringing people into downtown who may not normally frequent the downtown community. Watson also says, “New City not only wants our downtown businesses to thrive, we also want to be involved in serving the downtown community and helping to meet the many needs of the people of Macon.”
New City Church downtown will hold monthly services as follows:
September 16, October 21, November 18, December 16,
And will launch weekly services January 27, 2008.
