This blog started out as an opportunity to journal stuff on the process and events of starting New City... so that's what this post is about - just a catch up on the process.
Things have been ROCKING!
The pace is much faster than I imagined it would be.
Sundays come very quickly.
We entered the 567 right on target - I had figured months ago that Feb would be the time to start looking.
Getting into the 567 has been exhausting. I never really thought about having to meet painters, electricians, plumbers, carpet picker outers, and color picker outers.
I also didn't consider the amount of time it would take to locate and purchase affordable tables, chairs, counters, cabinets, and appliances.
let alone get them to the space, set up, cleaned up and installed.
And then there was the coordinating with Starbucks and getting all of the coffee stuff from Starbucks to the 567.
And meeting with 3 different artists about artwork
and getting our current sound equipment
and meeting with sound people about what we have and what we need
And then there was a few trips to the Macon P&Z office and the meeting with the health dept guy.
Other normal weekly things include - putting our bulletin together, picking them up from our Mabel White friends (thanks Carley and MW), stuffing bulletins with Info Cards, sermon preparation, planning our few outside events like Movie Night, getting coffee from Starbucks, updating new info card stuff, arriving 8:30 Sundays to begin set-up (usually leaving about 1:00ish after tear down)...
Did I mention I have a great wife and 3 incredible children - 2 playing baseball (games twice a week) and 1 riding a horse and having her 1st show soon?
So - I am catching my breath - exhausted - literally exhausted.
And soon we move into our next phase - putting structures in place and intentional leadership development.
